As part of my A-Level Textiles qualification, I was required to complete a written investigation relating to an area of fashion and textiles of choice. During my A-Level studies I discovered a liking towards abstract influences (reflective in my Art Study also), and therefore decided to explore how abstract influences such as art and conceptual themes can be found in fashion design. I conducted four critical analysis’ of renowned fashion designers’ work and used my findings to support my own work, of which my final piece was an abstract dress inspired by the Cornish seaside town, St Ives.
