As part of my A-Level Art qualification, I was required to complete a written art study, involving critically analysing famous artists’ work and responding to a research study question. Upon discovering my passion for and appreciating abstract art, I chose to analyse the work of the former artist couple, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, exploring their ideas and how they have influenced each other artistically, through their oeuvres and lives. Subsequently, my art work was heavily influenced by the research that I conducted.
